What Is Concrete Staining?

Achieve a unique and variegated concrete look with ECS's concrete acid stain method. Perfect for both resindential and commercial interior and exterior floors, this cost-effective technique creates a stunning array of colors and special effects.

Our concrete stain goes beyond just adding color to your floor. The acid stain penetrates the concrete, infusing it with rich, deep, and translucent tones, unlike paint that simply sits on the surface.

One of the key benefits of this method is its uniqueness. Even when using the same staining product and shade, no two concrete floors will look identical. The final appearance is influenced by factors such as the concrete's composition, age, and surface porosity.

Concrete Staining Floor Benefits

Concrete staining is a cost-effective solution that provides a permanent, unique color to your concrete floor, featuring a short turnaround time and easy maintenance.

01

Durable and Long-Lasting

Because concrete stains penetrate deeply, they don't wear out over time. The surface is non-flammable and UV-resistant, and when applied correctly, acid-stained concrete floors won't chip, peel, discolor, or fade. Additionally, they are highly resistant to damage and moisture.

02

Easy to Clean

Similar to other smooth, non-porous surfaces, acid-stained concrete is easy to clean and maintain. It prevents allergens and pathogens, such as dust mites and pollen, from penetrating, enhancing indoor air quality and benefiting the health of occupants.

03

Decorative

Stains are typically available in subtle earthy tones such as tan, brown, terracotta, and soft blue-green, with more intense color effects on new concrete compared to older or weathered surfaces. Depending on the chosen color, stained concrete can be designed to resemble polished marble, natural stone, tanned leather, or even stained wood.

Concrete Stain installation process

1.

The ECS Concrete Staining system starts with thorough concrete preparation. We clean the existing floor by pressure washing, using high-pressure vacuums, and acid cleaning to remove all debris. This ensures the stain properly adheres to the surface.

2.

Two or more stain coats are applied to the surface according to the manufacturer's recommended thickness. This enhances the color of the concrete while preserving its original condition. The concrete is dyed in the chosen color.

3.

An optional high-performance sealer is applied for added protection against scratches, and you can choose between a natural or gloss finish.
