Our Quartz Floor Installation Process
We start by mechanically grinding the concrete floor to remove any old coatings, stains and dirt. Concrete grinding also helps us achieve the correct concrete profiling.
Once we finish grinding the floor, we move onto repairing any cracks, holes and hairlines. This step is important for the structural integrity of both the concrete floor and the metallic epoxy.
When the floor is fully repaired, we move onto applying the epoxy flake floor system. We start by applying a self-leveling epoxy prime coat (moisture/dust barrier for fair-poor grade concrete), followed by a base coat, 100% solids self-leveling two-component catalyzed solid color epoxy. Once the base coat is applied we broadcast the quartz granules onto the floor.
Once the base coat is fully cured, we vacuum all excess quartz, to ensure a leveled fine textured grit-based finish. Lastly, we seal and protect with a 100% solids self-leveling UV-resistant, non-yellowing polyaspartic high-gloss top coat. Our quartz system is an anti-slip system, meaning no additional anti-slip additives are required.
