What are urethane cement floors

Urethane mortar, also known as urethane cement, is designed to tackle the toughest challenges faced by commercial kitchens and manufacturing facilities. This three-component polyurethane concrete formula excels in heavy-duty environments, offering exceptional resistance to impact, abrasion, thermal shock, chemicals, and organic food acids. Additionally, it helps prevent the growth of bacteria and microorganisms.

ECS's urethane concrete flooring is perfect for facilities that frequently encounter chemicals, alkalis, animal fats, and hot oils. It's an ideal choice for commercial kitchens, processing plants, cold storage areas, manufacturing facilities, and pharmaceutical plants, ensuring durability and hygiene in demanding conditions.

Urethane Cement Floor Benefits

Urethane mortar systems boast superior physical properties compared to epoxy systems, making them ideal for specific applications like heavy-duty industrial food processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, breweries, and meat, fish, and dairy processing facilities in and around Houston, Connecticut, and New York.

01

Quick Turnaround

If you operate a food processing plant, commercial kitchen, or pharmaceutical company, you understand the importance of time. Urethane cement offers a rapid turnaround, setting in just 6 to 8 hours, so your facility will only be closed for a short period.

02

Thermal Shock Resistance

Urethane mortar can withstand rapid temperature changes from -40°F to 250°F while maintaining its physical properties. This resilience makes it perfect for cold storage and commercial kitchens.

03

Moisture and Bacteria Resistant

Urethane cement, with its non-porous surface and coving, is ideal for food facilities due to its resistance to water and liquids, making it easy to clean and suitable for pressure washing. Its antibacterial properties prevent germ buildup, safeguarding equipment and produce from contamination and food-borne diseases.

Our Floor installation process

1.

We start by preparing the existing surface and applying a high-quality concrete overlay.

2.

Next, We start by pouring the urethane cement mixture onto the floor and evenly spreading it with a large screed, trowel, or notched squeegee. Once applied, we back-roll with a spiked roller to eliminate any air bubbles or gas pockets that may have formed. While the mixture is still wet, we broadcast quartz particles or other finish granules across the surface for a refined finish.

3.

The next step is to spread quartz particles or other finish granules on the surface while the mixture is still wet, right after back-rolling. This will create a textured finish that smooths out any imperfections in the existing floor as it dries.
